Pippins to Host Free Community Exhibition Game

YAKIMA, Wash. - The wait for the return of baseball at The Orchard just got a little shorter. The Pippins will play the Walla Walla Sweets in a free exhibition game on Wednesday, June 3 at The Orchard. First pitch will be thrown at 7:05 p.m. and gates will open at 6:00.
"This is a great opportunity for us to welcome fans back to the Orchard, and maybe introduce a few new fans to what Pippins baseball is all about," said Pippins President Zachary Fraser. "We can also knock the rust off, give new employees a chance to train in a real-time environment with the pressure of Opening Day, and allow our coaching staff and players to work out in a game setting."
The game is free for all to attend, but fans will need a ticket to enter the gates. Tickets can be claimed at the Pippins' new downtown offices (12 S. 2nd Street) starting April 27 or at the County Stadium box office on the day of the game. Season ticket and package holders will have the game included in their packages.
Concession stands will also be open throughout the ballpark, as the Pippins aim to create the full ballpark experience for the first time all summer.
"I am excited, but caution fans to recognize the dress rehearsal nature of this game," said Fraser. "My job will be to work with our dedicated front office to identify areas of improvement to ensure an Opening Day that our fans can be proud of."
