Baseball Hall-Of-Famer Tony Larussa to Headline Cougars Event on May 13

GENEVA, Ill. - Tickets are on sale now for the Kane County Cougars' "Out to the Ballgame II" event, to be held on Wednesday, May 13 at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark. The Cougars will welcome Arizona Diamondbacks chief baseball officer and baseball Hall-of-Famer Tony LaRussa, who will speak to attendees that day. For $95, attendees will enjoy a speakers program with LaRussa and Cougars owner Dr. Bob Froehlich, a question-and-answer segment, buffet dinner and Super Suite ticket for that evening's 6:30 p.m. game. Seating is extremely limited and fans can purchase tickets by calling (630) 232-8811 or ordering online at kccougars.com. Additional guests of the Cougars who will be in attendance that day include Minor League Baseball president Pat O'Conner along with Midwest League president Richard A. Nussbaum II.

The event, to be held inside the Cougars' upper deck Super Suite, begins at 4 p.m. when doors open. A speakers program kicks off at 4:30 p.m. with Cougars owner Dr. Bob Froehlich, followed by Tony LaRussa, one of baseball's most recognizable individuals. A question-and-answer session will take place and afterwards, guests will enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring burgers, brats, hot dogs, side dishes, soda and water. A cash bar will be available as well. The Cougars will take the field and face Burlington at 6:30 p.m.

LaRussa joined the D-backs franchise on May 17, 2014 and in his current role, is responsible for all facets of the organization's baseball operations. The 2014 inductee into the National Baseball Hall of Fame was the first person in Major League history to hold the position of Chief Baseball Officer.

La Russa, the winningest Major League manager since 1950 and the third-winningest of all-time, captured 3 World Series titles (1989, 2006, 2011), six League Championships (1988-90, 2004, '06 and '11), 12 division titles (1983, '88-90, 1992, '96, 2000, '02, '04-06 and '09) and was a four-time Manager of the Year (1983, '88, '92, 2002). He and Sparky Anderson are the only two managers to win World Series titles in both leagues. His 2,728 regular-season wins as a manager trail only Connie Mack (3,731) and John McGraw (2,763) all-time, his 70 postseason wins are second-most behind Joe Torre (84) and his 14 postseason appearances are third-most behind Bobby Cox (16) and Torre (15).
