NEWS AND NOTES

THEIR FOR THEIR OPENING DAY (SERIES OPENER):The Sea Dogs open up their first roadtrip of the season, taking on the Trenton Thunder (Yankees affiliate) in the opener of a four-game series...Tonight is Trenton's Opening Day at Arm & Hammer Park - and the first of 20 meetings between the two rivals this season...Portland won 11 of 20 from Trenton in 2014, but split 10 games at Hadlock Field...Last year, Portland had the best road record in franchise history at 42-28 (.600).

SOME DRAMA AT THE END: Portland held on for a 7-5 win over the New Britain Rock Cats on Wednesday morning at Hadlock Field...The Sea Dogs led 7-2 after six, but the Rock Cats rallied back in the late innings...RHP Dayan Diaz earned the save, fanning the go-ahead run at the plate (Jayson Langfels)...Kevin Heller went 1-for-1 with a 2-run single and a sacrifice fly...Jonathan Aro earned his second win in as many outings, tying a career-high with six strikeouts over 3 innings on 2 hits and one run...Reed Gragnani had his best game in Double-A, going 2-for-2, with 2 walks, 2 runs scored and an RBI...Carlos Asuaje, David Chester and Mike Miller all had RBIs in the win.
