HERSHEY, Pa. - The Hershey Bears announced today that forward Sam Warning has been signed to an amateur tryout agreement. The announcement was made by Bears president/general manager Doug Yingst.

Warning, 22, comes to Hershey after finishing his senior season at the University of Minnesota (Big-10), appearing in 39 games and posting 24 points (12 goals, 12 assists). He ranked seventh in scoring on the Golden Gophers, tied for fourth in goals and fourth in plus-minus (+13). In his junior year of 2013-14, Warning finished second on the squad with 34 points (14 goals, 20 assists) in 39 games.

The 5-10, 180-pound native of Chesterfield, MO finished his four-year, 146-game career at Minnesota with 97 points (40 goals, 57 assists). He was an Academic All-Big Ten honoree in his junior year, and an All-WCHA Academic Team honoree in his sophomore season of 2012-13.

Prior to college, Warning played two years with the USHL's Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, piling up 62 points (33 goals, 29 assists) in 109 games. In 2010-11, the forward helped the RoughRiders capture their first-ever Anderson Cup as regular-season champions of the USHL.
