Former Senator Latimore Burns Harrisburg
April 15, 2015 - Eastern League (EL1)
Harrisburg Senators News Release
A four-run fourth inning, highlighted by former Senator Quincy Latimore's three-run home run, allowed the Bowie Baysox to break away in a 7-3 victory over the Harrisburg Senators Wednesday night at Metro Bank Park.
Senators' starter Joe Ross allowed six runs in five innings of work, although only four were earned. The right-hander walked two and struck out six. In his first appearance of 2015, Colin Bates pitched a scoreless sixth inning, in which he struck out the side. Abel De Los Santos allowed just a solo home run in two innings of work and Bryan Harper pitched a scoreless ninth inning for the Senators.
Offensively, the Senators scored two runs in the first inning when Shawn Pleffner knocked in two with a two-out single to left-center field. Harrisburg's best chance to get back in the game came in the sixth inning when it loaded the bases with no outs. Pleffner picked up his third RBI of the night when his comebacker to the mound was mishandled, allowing a run to score. However, the Senators followed Pleffner by striking out twice and grounding out to leave the bases loaded. Harrisburg stranded five runners in the game. Tony Renda extended his hitting streak to seven games with a double in the sixth inning.
Tomorrow the Senators head to Binghamton to face the Mets in the first road game of the season. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. with Harrisburg's Paolo Espino on the hill against Binghamton's Rainy Lara. The game can be heard beginning with the pregame show at 6:20 p.m. on 1460 AM Fox Sports Harrisburg or via senatorsbaseball.com, 1460theticket.com or the iHeart Radio app.
The Senators box office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available via telephone during the same hours as the box office hours. Tickets are also available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, online at www.senatorsbaseball.com.
