Opening Day Festivities, Martavis Bryant Appearance, Fireworks Highlight Curve's Opening Homestand

CURVE, Pa. - Two fireworks shows and an appearance by a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers highlight the weekend at Peoples Natural Gas Field as the Altoona Curve host their first homestand of the 2015 season.

The Curve open their home slate tomorrow (Thursday) with the first of a four-game set against Akron. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. for the Opening Day festivities and the first 5,000 fans will receive a 2015 Magnet Schedule, courtesy of Lakemont Park & The Island Waterpark. Fans can also enjoy the first Fireworks Show of the season. It's also a Thirsty ThursdayTM, featuring 16 oz. Bud Light and regular sodas on special for $2.

On Thursday, fans arriving early will be treated to live music from Ryan Matthew and Steve Holtz at PNG Field from 4-5 p.m. Prior to the game, Curve players will be available to meet fans and sign autographs at an exclusive VIP Meet & Greet, All-You-Can-Eat Picnic beginning at 4:15 for those that have purchased tickets for this event. A limited number of tickets for the VIP picnic are available at the PNG Field box office or by calling 877.99.CURVE.

On Friday, the Curve host a special appearance by Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant, thanks to Holiday Inn Express and WTAJ-TV. A limited number of VIP Meet & Greet Picnic tickets remain and can be obtained by visiting the PNG Field box office or by calling 877.99.CURVE. The first 1,000 fans through the gates on Friday will also receive a pair of Black & Gold Curve texting gloves, courtesy of Premier Cleaning & Restoration. Once the game begins, Bryant will sign autographs for one hour on the Budweiser Party Deck for fans.

On Saturday, Fireworks will follow the Curve's matchup with the RubberDucks. The Curve will also help raise awareness on National Crime Victim's Rights Night presented by Family Services, Inc. and Victim Witness of Blair County.

Sunday will be the first Curve Kids' Club Game of 2015, presented by Ritchey's Dairy. Young fans will be able to participate in the first Youth Baseball Clinic of the season taught by Curve players and coaches. The clinic runs from 10 a.m. to noon and is free with the purchase of a ticket to that afternoon's game. It is also Superhero Day with fun superhero-themed on-field games plus we'll be celebrating the 75th anniversary of Penn State Altoona.

The homestand continues on Monday as the Curve welcome the Senators for the first Mega Monday of the year, featuring online ticket specials, specialty food items that you can only get on Mondays. This week, the Curve are offering Meatball Subs, which will be available at the Backstop Grille down the third base line, and Buck Bleachers with $1 bleacher seats.

Two-for-Tuesday returns for 2015 thanks to Atlantic Broadband, featuring buy one, get one free specials on tickets, hot dogs and popcorn.

Wednesday's finale of the homestand and the three-game set with the Senators is a 4-Pack Wednesday. Fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four regular sodas for just $39. It's also Wing & Wine Wednesday with 50-cent wings and for the first time at PNG Field, fans can purchase wine on the concourse. The Curve will have specials on glasses of Moscato and Merlot from Briar Valley in Bedford, Pa.
