Tacoma Rainiers News Release
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The Tacoma Rainiers let a late lead slip away in a 4-3 extra-innings loss to the Albuquerque Isotopes at Isotopes Park on Monday night.
The Rainiers held a 3-1 edge before surrendering a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Dustin Garneau brought the Isotopes within a run after leading off the bottom of the frame with a home run, and Kyle Parker evened the score with an RBI single two outs later.
Garneau went on to homer again in the tenth inning to give Albuquerque a walk-off win in the first game of Tacoma's four-game series at the Isotopes.
Chris Taylor was responsible for driving in two of Tacoma's three runs in the series opener. The shortstop broke up a 1-1 tie with an RBI single in the third inning, and then delivered another run-scoring single in the eighth. Taylor ended the third game of his rehab stint with the Rainiers going 2-for-3 with two RBI and a walk.
Ketel Marte and Shawn O'Malley posted Tacoma's other multi-hit outings after each collected a pair of hits. Marte ended the night 2-for-5 with a pair of singles and a run scored. O'Malley went 2-for-3 with an RBI single.
