OKC Dodgers Record Fourth Straight Win

Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Dodgers won a fourth consecutive game Monday, opening a four-game series against the Nashville Sounds with a 5-3 win at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The OKC Dodgers tied the game, 3-3, then took the lead for good in the fourth inning to improve to 4-1 on the season in front of a crowd of 2,893.

In his first start of 2015, and his first start in the Dodgers organization, pitcher Joe Wieland struck out nine batters over 5.0 innings, allowing three hits and three runs (two earned) in the win.

Reliever Freddy Garcia pitched three scoreless innings and Adam Liberatore earned the save for Oklahoma City with a scoreless and hitless ninth.

Monday's loss ended a three-game winning streak for the Sounds (3-2), who took the first lead of the game.

Center fielder Billy Burns drew a walk to lead off for Nashville. A one-out RBI double from first baseman Max Muncy brought home Burns for a 1-0 Sounds lead.

Catcher Bryan Anderson reached on a fielding error by OKC Dodgers first baseman Kyle Jensen later in the inning and Muncy scored on the play for a 2-0 Nashville advantage.

OKC Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes doubled on a line drive to left field for the first hit of the night for Oklahoma City in the second inning. Outfielder Matt Carson followed with a walk and a two-run triple from third baseman Buck Britton scored both runners to knot up the score, 2-2.

A solo homer from Andy Parrino gave Nashville a 3-2 lead in the third inning, but a three-run fourth inning put the OKC Dodgers in front to stay.

Shortstop Elliot Johnson's RBI single tied the game, 3-3, with two outs. Designated hitter Darnell Sweeney followed with a two-run single for a 5-3 advantage.

Oklahoma City's pitching staff combined to strike out 13 Nashville batters, marking the fourth time in five games the OKC Dodgers have recorded at least 10 strikeouts in a game.

Nashville starting pitcher Brad Mills was charged with the loss, allowed five runs on four hits, walking five and striking out four over 3.2 innings.

The OKC Dodgers continue their season-opening homestand at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday against Nashville at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
