Dan Milan Reassigned to Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned defenseman Dan Milan to the Syracuse Crunch from the Wichita Thunder of the ECHL. In a separate transaction, defenseman Bryant Molle has been released from his professional tryout contract. The moves were announced today by Crunch general manager Julien BriseBois.

Milan, who turns 23 Tuesday, appeared in 70 of Wichita's 72 games this year, registering one goal, 16 assists, 178 penalty minutes and a minus-6 rating. Milan was reassigned to Syracuse Jan. 16 but did not see game action. The 6-foot-2, 206-lb. Detroit native made his AHL debut with the Crunch March 7, 2014, in a 4-1 loss at Rochester.

In the 2013-14 season, Milan played three games with the Florida Everblades (ECHL) and 50 contests with the Brampton Beast (CHL). With Brampton he recorded 10 points (2g, 8a), 108 penalty minutes and a minus-6 rating. In his first professional season, 2012-13, Milan played 43 games for the Everblades totaling eight points (2g, 6a), 56 penalty minutes and a plus-5 rating.

Prior to his pro career, Milan played 130 contests in the QMJHL, tallying 49 points (16g, 33a) with Moncton and Victoriaville.
