Daytona Tortugas News Release

Daytona Beach, FL - The Daytona Tortugas vs. Brevard County Manatees game scheduled for Saturday, April 11 has been suspended due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Friday, May 1st at Radiology Associates Field at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.

Play will resume in the top of the third inning with two outs and a runner on second for Brevard County. Tortugas starter Amir Garrett, the No. 7 prospect in the Reds organization according to Baseball America, struck out five of the first eight batters he faced before surrendering a two-out double to Angel Ortega. The rain came down shortly after.

Tickets to Saturday's game can be exchanged for any other Daytona Tortugas regular season home game in 2015. With Saturday fireworks postponed this week, fans can enjoy a fireworks spectacular next Saturday, April 18, at Radiology Associates Field at Jackie Robinson Ballpark, which will be twice as long as usual.

The Tortugas and Manatees will finish up their season-opening series with a 5:05 p.m. finale on Sunday at Space Coast Stadium in Viera, FL. Starting pitcher Nick Howard, who was taken with the 19th overall pick in last year's draft, is scheduled to make his Daytona debut. As with all 140 regular season games, fans can hear the action on AM 1230 and AM 1490 WSBB.
