Rome, GA - The Asheville Tourists defeated the Rome Braves 6-3 Friday night to win the second game of a four game set at State Mutual Stadium before a crowd of 2,007. Asheville posted three runs in the third inning on back to back doubles by Forrest Wall and Omar Carrizales, a sacrifice fly RBI by Dom Nunez, and a balk to score the third run. The Tourists added single runs in the fourth and fifth innings before Rome made it a 5-1 game in the sixth on a sacrifice fly RBI by Tanner Krietemeier. After Asheville scored a run in the seventh, the Braves made it a 6-3 game in the eighth thanks to a two run single by Wigberto Nevarez. The Asheville bullpen held the lead the rest of the game to secure the win.

Asheville's Wes Rogers had five stolen bases tying eight others in South Atlantic League history including Vince Coleman (1983) and Rafael Furcal (1999).

Helmis Rodriguez (1-0) gets the win and Brandon Barker the loss (0-1).
