Riverhounds Ready for Storm in St. Louis

Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release

PITTSBURGH (April 10, 2015) - The Pittsburgh Riverhounds hit the road this weekend to provide the opposition for Saint Louis F.C.'s first home game in franchise history.

A sellout crowd of about 6,000 is expected at the Saint Louis Soccer Park in Fenton, Missouri Saturday night as The Saints (1-1-0, 3 points) seek to build on last week's 2-0 win at the Tulsa Roughnecks. Kickoff is at 8:30 p.m. Eastern time.

The Riverhounds (1-1-0, 3 points) are looking to bounce back from a disappointing home loss to the Rochester Rhinos in what head coach Mark Steffens predicts will be a difficult environment.

"We're going to have to weather a storm in the first 15 or 20 minutes with this being St. Louis' first home game," Steffens said. "We're ready for it."

The Hounds struggled to create chances during last Saturday's 2-1 defeat against the Rhinos. Steffens tinkered with his formation during Tuesday's scrimmage against the University of Pittsburgh. A slightly different style and some personnel changes are expected for Saturday's USL Eastern Conference battle.

Kevin Kerr remains as the league's joint leading goalscorer following his opening night hat-trick against the Harrisburg City Islanders. Kerr and Rob Vincent top the USL's points-per-game list with six points each from two games played.

Matt Dallman and Drew Russell remain unavailable as they recover from hip and knee injuries respectively. Captain Danny Earls tweaked a hip flexor this week in training. It is not expected that he will miss the game.

Canadian left-back Tyler Pasher is in contention to make his competitive Riverhounds debut after belatedly receiving his international transfer clearance this week.

A live broadcast of the game will be shown in the sports bar at Highmark Stadium. Fans are invited to attend from 7 p.m. to enjoy our food and drink options. Entrance is free.

Tickets for the Riverhounds' next home game against Louisville City on April 19 are still available. Visit Riverhounds.com for details or call the Highmark Stadium box office on (412) 325-7241 to speak to a ticket representative.
