Bombers Four More Players Added to the 2015 Bombers Roster

Bryan-College Station, TX (April 9, 2015) - As the 2015 Texas Collegiate League (TCL) season draws near, the Brazos Valley Bombers are excited to announce the addition of four outstanding players from the University of Oklahoma (OU).

"The University of Oklahoma has been really good to us the last couple of years," said Curt Dixon, Bombers head coach. "Hunter Haley, Chris Shaw, Thomas McIlraith, and Alex Wise are all impact juniors who will be joining the Bombers this upcoming season."

Hunter Haley, a junior outfielder from OU, will begin his second consecutive season with the Brazos Valley Bombers this summer. In addition to being named the number two prospect in the TCL by Baseball America, Haley hit a .294 with 20 runs scored and 13 driven in with 16 steals in a total of 23 games during his 2014 campaign with the Bombers.

Junior catcher Chris Shaw played two seasons at Midland College before transferring to OU. Shaw finished his career with the Chaparrals with an impressive .390 batting average, 25 home runs and 127 runs batted in (RBI). In the 2014 MLB First-Year Player Draft, Shaw was selected in the 14 th round by the St. Louis Cardinals.

Amarillo, Texas native Thomas McIlraith is currently a junior right-handed pitcher (RHP) at OU. McIlraith is also a transfer from Midland College where he compiled a 4.76 ERA with a 7-3 record with 66 innings pitched and 61 strikeouts in his 2014 season with the Chaparrals.

The final OU player set to join the Bombers this upcoming season is junior outfielder/third baseman Alex Wise. Prior to transferring to OU, wise played his first two years of college baseball at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. Wise scored 106 runs and stole 53 bases, while batting .367 during his first two seasons with the Golden Norseman.

"All four players are professional prospects and will definitely make us a better club," Dixon said. "We are excited to have all four of these players with the Bombers this summer."

The back-to-back TCL champions will begin their 9th season in the TCL on the road against the Strykers on May 28 . The Brazos Valley Bombers will host the East Texas PumpJacks on June 2 for the team's home opener at Cellucor Field.
