Tri-City Storm News Release

KEARNEY, Neb. - Tri-City Storm fans raised a total of $12,197 in 27 games during the 2014-15 season for the Jerseys For A Cause program. All proceeds have been donated to cancer related foundations in the central Nebraska region.

Presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska, the 2014-15 JFAC program benefitted eight organizations including Kearney Tackles Cancer, Relay For Life, Make-A-Wish, Team Jack Foundation, Phelps Memorial Hospital, Mary Lanning Hospital, the Stay In The Game Foundation and SAFE Kids.

At each home Storm game, a limited edition game-worn jersey from Color Out Cancer Night on Oct. 17 was raffled off to fans who donate.

The total amount collected increased by over $2,000 from the 2013-14 season, when Storm fans donated $9,718 in 29 games.

During five games in March, fans raised over $2,000 for Mary Lanning Hospital. On March 20, $450 was raised for the Stay In The Game Foundation.

On Fan Appreciation Night the Storm defeated Cedar Rapids in their only home game during the month of April and generated over $1,500 for SAFE Kids.

The 2014-15 season was the fourth year of the JFAC partnership between Blue Cross Blue Shield and the Tri-City Storm.

The Storm will finish the regular season schedule on the road this weekend, taking on Dubuque and Des Moines. Friday's game with the Fighting Saints starts at 7:35 p.m., while Saturday's contest with the Buccaneers starts at 7:05.

Only one point behind first place Sioux City, Tri-City can win the Western Conference regular season title with wins in both road games next weekend.
