Philadelphia Soul News Release

PHILADELPHIA (April 8, 2015) - Since 2012, the Philadelphia Soul have had the highest winning percentage in town out of all the Philadelphia professional sports teams. And the numbers do not lie. Over the last four years, they have a winning record of 42-21. This year, the team plans to bring a championship back to the City of Brotherly Love, who hasn't seen a title in any sport since 2008, when the Soul, as well as the Phillies, brought home championships.

TEAM WINNING PERCENTAGE

SOUL (42-21) .667

Flyers (101-85-15) .540

Eagles (32-33) .492

Phillies (233-259) .473

Union (22-32-8) .419

76ers (69-170) .289

The success starts at the top. Led by Soul co-majority owner and former Eagles' quarterback, Ron Jaworski, and new team owner, New Orleans Saints' wide receiver and Super Bowl champion, Marques Colston, highlight a group of owners that are focused on motivating the team to get to the championship.

In the past three seasons, the Soul have managed to clinch a playoff spot each time as well as two ArenaBowl appearances with head coach Clint Dolezel leading the charge. Along with the newly added defensive coordinator, Derek Stingley, and former All-Arena and ArenaBowl champion, Phil Bogle, on to the coaching staff, the Soul have been off to a great start this season with a 2-0 record in 2015.

"We are honored to give the fans of Philadelphia what they want - a championship-caliber team," Jaworski said. "This organization strives to be the best on-and-off the field. Philadelphia is a proud city and this city deserves a successful team that our sport fans can be proud of. There is no other goal, we want to bring that championship back home."

The Soul currently leads the League in Total Offense (386.5 yards per game), Total Defense (207.0 yards per game) and No. 2 in Scoring (62.0 points per game). Dan Raudabaugh, who is No. 1 in Passing Yards (727) and Touchdown Passes (14), is off to a solid start, while the tremendous trio of 2014 Cutter's Receiver of the Year, Marco Thomas (28 receptions for 300 yards and four touchdowns), Ryan McDaniel (18 receptions for 243 yards and five touchdowns) and Shaun Kauleinamoku (18.5 yards per catch, No. 1 in AFL) help the offense off to a record-pace.

With the addition of new players this season, it is certainly apparent that the veterans have shown what it means to be a member of the Soul and take pride that they play for one of the best fan bases in the country.

The Soul look to continue their winning streak this Sunday, as they face the Jacksonville Sharks (0-2) in their home opener. The game is scheduled to kick off at 4 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Center.
