Phoenix, Ariz. - The world champion Arizona Rattlers have reactivated offensive lineman Derek Dennis for the 2015 Arena Football League (AFL) season. This will be Dennis' first season in the AFL.

The 6-foot-3, 340-pound Dennis spent the entire 2014 season with the National Football League's (NFL) Carolina Panthers on their practice squad. He also spent time with the NFL's Chicago Bears in 2012 and 2013.

Dennis played in 52 games for the Temple Owls, where he started at both guard and tackle. His senior season he started all 13 games at left guard and was invited to play at the 2012 East-West Shrine Game.

The Queens, New York native graduated from Trinity Pawling School where he was a multi-sport athlete. Dennis earned All-League, All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-Section honors in football. In basketball he helped his school earn back-to-back state titles in 2005 and 2006.

The Arizona Rattlers (1-1) will travel to Cleveland to take on the Gladiators (2-0) this Saturday, April 11th at 4:00 p.m. at the Quicken Loans Arena. This will be the first time the Rattlers will face the Gladiators since Arizona's 72-32 victory at ArenaBowl XXVII. For additional information please visit www.azrattlers.com.
