Stampede's Eyssimont Named USHL Co-Forward of the Week

Sioux Falls, SD-The United States Hockey League (USHL) announced on Monday that Mikey Eyssimont (pronounced Eye-see-mont) has been named CCM/USHL Co-Forward of the Week. He shares the honors with Kyle Connor of the Youngstown Phantoms. Eyssimont earns the award after posting six points (2g, 4a) and a plus-8 rating in three games last week.
On Wednesday, Eyssimont set up the eventual game winning goal and finished the night a plus-2 in a 3-0 win over Des Moines. On Saturday, Eyssimont sparked a Stampede rally against Tri-City and assisted on another in a 7-6 loss to Tri-City. Trailing 7-1 just over four minutes into the third period, the Littleton, CO native scored 6:39 into the period and the Stampede went on to score four more times in the period and almost completed the greatest comeback in franchise history, but came up just a goal short in a 7-6 setback. On Saturday, the St. Cloud State recruit posted the Stampede's second goal and went on to set up two other goals and finish the night a plus-5 in a 7-0 rout of Lincoln at the PREMIER Center.
Eyssimont was acquired in a trade from the Fargo Force in March and is currently riding a six-game point scoring streak. He has tallied a goal in five of his last six games and has a 10 points (5g, 5a) during his six-game scoring stretch. In 13 games with the Stampede, the forward has 12 points (5g, 7a). Overall on the season, he ranks third on the team in scoring with 48 points (22g, 26a) in 59 games.
Eyssimont and the Stampede return to action this Friday when they host the Sioux City Musketeers at the PREMIER Center in the final home game of the regular season. It is also Sioux Falls Ford "Take My Jersey Night," where fans can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a game-worn Stampede jersey. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Game time is 7:05 PM and tickets are available through the KELOLAND Box Office or any Ticketmaster location.
