Washington, PA-The Washington Wild Things announced San Diego Padres prospect Lee Orr has signed a contract with the team for the 2015 season.

The El Campo, TX native played four seasons in the San Diego Padres system with the Eugene Emeralds, Fort Wayne Tincaps, Lake Elsinore Storm and the San Antonio Missions. During his time in the minors, Orr has played in 307 career games, registered 1169 plate appearances and 1032 at-bats. He has 229 career hits, 59 doubles, nine triples, 38 home runs and 147 RBI.

Last season, Orr spent the entire year with the San Antonio Missions, the Double-A affiliate of the Padres. Orr played parts of 2013 with the Missions and the entire regular season in 2014. He appeared in 96 regular season games and displayed his versatility by making starts in all three outfield positions and first base. Last season with the Missions, Orr compiled 38 hits, 8 doubles, 8 home runs and 29 RBI. In 2013, Orr produced an outstanding season with Lake Elsinore, Class A Advanced of the Padres, hitting .276 with 17 doubles, four triples, 10 home runs and 36 RBI.

Orr was taken twice in the MLB June Amateur Draft. Prior to his stint with the Padres, Orr was chosen by the Cincinnati Reds in the 40th round of the 2010 MLB June Amateur Draft but declined the offer. A year later, he was selected by the Padres in the 13th round of the 2011 MLB June Amateur Draft.

At McNeese State in Louisiana, Orr was an outstanding collegiate athlete. The six-foot-three, 215 pounder was a three-time All-Southland Conference selection and was named a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball and Baseball America. Orr played summer collegiate ball with the East Texas Pump Jacks in 2010 and earned the Texas Collegiate League Player of the Year honors. He led the TCL in runs scored (38) and finished second in the league with five home runs, 24 stolen bases and ranked among league leaders in doubles and slugging percentage.

The Wild Things open their 14th season in the Frontier League against the Schaumburg Boomers on Friday, May 15th at 7:05 p.m. 2015 Season Ticket packages and group outings are on sale now.
