Road trip record falls to 5-3-0 in series finale in Boise

BOISE, Idaho. - The Alaska Aces took their largest margin of defeat this season, marked by Zack Kamrass's first two career goals, 5-0 to the Idaho Steelheads before 3,251 fans at CenturyLink Arena on Wednesday night.
Goaltender Olivier Roy earned his fourth shutout of the season and the Aces had their five game road win streak halted, tying the fourth longest mark in club history. Alaska finished 4-7-2 in the season series with Idaho and remained in fourth place in the Pacific Division, one point ahead of idle Utah.
The Aces and Grizzlies face-off on Friday, starting a two game series.
David deKastrozza jumped on a loose puck and buried a snap shot from the right circle at 5:58 of the first period, followed by Wade MacLeod's 37th goal on the next shift, a finish at the right post from Levi Nelson's cross-ice pass for a 2-0 edge.
Idaho outshot the Aces, 7-5 in the first period.
Kamrass then buried the next two from the point to boost Idaho ahead, 4-0, beginning on his first career ECHL goal at 4:24 of the second period and power play goal off a slapshot that lifted starter Troy Redmann for Niklas Lundstrom at 8:48.
Steve Qualier finished his fifth goal of the season on a backhander at the net, set up by Colten Beck with 5:06 left in regulation.
Redmann made 11 saves and took the loss, while Lundstrom stopped 10 shots.
NOTES: The Aces scratched Nilan Nagy, Justin Johnson, Tanner Sorenson, Tim Coffman, Ryan Tesink, and Brad Gorham ... Brendan Connolly finished as the Aces leading scorer in the series with 13 points in 12 games, also posting a +4 rating ... the Aces were outshot, 26-20 and went 0-of-5 on the power play.
The road trip moves onto Utah, where the Aces visit the Grizzlies at 5:00 p.m. AKT (KFQD).
