Spokane Chiefs News Release

SPOKANE, Wash. - It took over 82 minutes, but the Spokane Chiefs fell just short on Wednesday night at Spokane Arena, dropping a 2-1 game in double overtime. The Silvertips' Jake Mykitiuk punched in the game-winner at the 2:07 mark of the second extra period.

Adam Helewka scored his third goal of the post-season at the 14:19 mark of the first period, snapping one past goaltender Carter Hart from near the goal line on his right side. Kailer Yamamoto earned his third assist of the playoffs while defenseman Tyson Helgesen also earned a helper.

After a scoreless second period, Brayden Low tied the game for Everett just 52 seconds into the third frame. Carson Stadnyk and Ivan Nikolishin, who scored all five of Everett's goals in Game 1 of the series, earned assists.

A tightly contested but scoreless overtime period later, Mykitiuk took a cross-ice pass from Nikolishin and chipped it past Spokane netminder Garret Hughson to earn the 2-1 win.

Hughson finished the game with 36 saves on 38 shots faced while Hart stopped 45 of 46 sent his way. Both teams were 0-for-4 on the power play.

The win gives Everett a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series heading into Friday's Game 4 matchup at Spokane Arena. Game 5 will be in Everett on Saturday, with a potential Game 6 in Spokane on Tuesday, April 7.

Tickets for Game 4 are on sale now at the Chiefs' Ticket Office, over the phone at (509) 535-PUCK or (800) 325-SEAT, via TicketsWest outlets and online at www.ticketswest.com.
