Binghamton Senators News Release

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators grabbed a 3-2 overtime win in Syracuse to beat the Crunch despite being outshot 41-32.

Shane Prince opened the scoring for the night with his team-leading 24th goal of the season off a faceoff 4:05 into the first period. Syracuse answered a little over eight minutes later when Mike Angelidis put home his 20th goal of the year over rookie goaltender Chris Driedger. Carter Camper broke the 1-1 tie at the 17:53 mark after taking a feed from Cole Schneider on the boards and beating Kristers Gudlevskis. The B-Sens took the 2-1 lead to the locker room with the shots tied at 12.

Ryan Martindale tied the game up for the Crunch less than two minutes into the second period following a turnover by Binghamton's defense. The teams went through the remainder of the second and the third periods held at a tied 2-2 score with the Crunch leading in shots 37-29 throughout regulation to force overtime.

Despite beginning the extra time shorthanded, Binghamton managed to kill off the residual power-play time left over from a Max McCormick hooking call at the end of regulation to return to full strength. Following a strong stop by Driedger, the B-Sens sent a fast-break up the ice where Chris Wideman took a feed from Ryan Dzingel to bury the game-winning goal at 3:06 and give the B-Sens the win.

Driedger stopped 39 of 41 shots faced to move to 3-0-0 for the season while Gudlevskis had 29 saves in the losing effort.
