Bethlehem, PA: The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks (1-0) are on the road for the second time to start the season; this week they will head to Tennessee to face the Nashville Venom (0-1). After a Sunday game in Erie, Lehigh Valley has a short week preparing for a Friday night game against the Venom. The Steelhawks make the trip to Nashville in what will be a rematch of last year's PIFL Championship.

In their opening game, the Steelhawks offense had a solid performance, putting up 50 points. QB Shane McSweeny threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns. He contributed another three touchdowns rushing, and 31 yards on the ground. All four receivers contributed, led by veteran Brandon Renford (10 catches for 123 yds, 3 tds).

Lehigh Valley's defense shined in their victory over Erie, creating three turnovers in the last ninety seconds to give the Hawks the win. DL Larry Ford was named PIFL Defensive Player of the Week for his two sack, four tackle performance, including a strip sack at the end of the game to allow the Steelhawks to take the lead. The entire defensive line had a great game, putting constant pressure on Erie's quarterback; DL Amara Kamara contributed two fumble recoveries, two sacks, 1.5 tackles for a loss, and 4 tackles.

Nashville is coming off a close loss to the Alabama Hammers. Offensively, they are led by veteran QB Charles McCullum (221 yards and 2 tds passing). He has veteran receivers in George Murray (8 catches for 132 yds, 1 td) and Jordan Jolly (5 catches). Venom defensively is led by DB Corry Stewart (7.5 tackles, 1 tfl, 1 int, 2 pbu's).

Watch out for turnovers to be a factor in the game. The Steelhawks created four turnovers (2 ints, 2 forced fumbles) in their first game, while Nashville lost three turnovers (2 ints, 1 fumble). Both teams will be looking to make a statement early in the season after last year's championship game.

After the Hawks return from Nashville, their next contest will be their 2015 Home Opener, Sunday, April 12th at 4:00pm in an inter league matchup against the Marion Blue Racers of the X League. It will be the team's first game on Embassy Bank Field in the PPL Center. The first 1,000 fans through the door will receive a FREE Steelhawks 5 Year t-shirt! The Steelhawks will remain in the Valley the following week for a rematch with Erie on April 18th.
