Ford Honored by PIFL

Bethlehem, PA: In release made today, the league office of the Professional Indoor Football League announced that Lehigh Valley Steelhawks Defensive Lineman Larry Ford was selected as the Week Two Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the team's 50-43 victory over the Erie Explosion.
Ford (6'4", West Virginia) was honored as Defensive Player of the Week after his two sack, four tackle performance which included a crucial strip sack of Quarterback Jeff Sinclair with under One minute remaining in a tied ball game. That strip was recovered by Steelhawks Lineman Amara Kamara and returned to the Erie Explosion one yard line, where a play later, Quarterback Shane McSweeny would rumble into the endzone for the go-ahead touchdown.
Additionally the league announced that Columbus Lions WR John Harris and Kicker Lindsey Wolfe were names the Offensive and Special Teams Players of the Week.
Ford and the Steelhawks continue of the road this Friday with a 2014 Championship rematch against the Nashville Venom (0-1) at 8:30 PM EST. The team then returns home for their first ever game inside the new PPL Center and the first ever game on Embassy Bank Field. This "Home Opener Night" game will be brought to the fans by KALCO RESOURCES, with the first 1,000 fans receiving a free Five Year Logo Steelhawks T-shirt.
