NASHVILLE, TN (March 31, 2015) - The Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) is proud to announce the Week 2 Players of the Week.

Offensive Player of the Week: WR John Harris (Columbus)

Once a former rival, WR John Harris (6'1 190, NW Mississippi CC) highlighted a group three former Albany Panthers who made the trek north to Columbus making their debut with the Lions in Sunday's thrilling 52-50 come from behind victory over Richmond. Harris, who led the PIFL in receptions a season ago with the Georgia Fire, came out blazing in his debut hauling in four receptions for 125 yards along with three trips to the end-zone. None more important than his final one which served as the deciding factor helping the Lions overcome a 13-point 4th quarter deficit.

Honorable Mentions: WR Brandon Renford (Lehigh Valley), QB Shane McSweeny (Lehigh Valley).

Defensive Player of the Week: DL Larry Ford (Lehigh Valley)

In another nail bitter, the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks got a huge boost defensively from their defensive line especially that of DL Larry Ford (6'4 265, West Virginia). Trailing for much of the 4th quarter, the Hawks defense created three straight turnovers including a forced fumble on a sack by Ford that was recovered ultimately leading to Lehigh's decisive game-winning score one-yard QB keeper from McSweeny. Ford finished the game with four tackles of which included two sacks and that key forced fumble. As a unit, the Hawks created four turnovers along with six sacks helping them edge past Erie 50-43.

Honorable Mention: DL Amara Kamara (Lehigh Valley)

Special Teams Player of the Week: K Lindsey Wolfe (Columbus)

Also making his Lions debut on Sunday, kicker Lindsey Wolfe's (6'0 180, Fort Valley St.) tenure started out shaky missing on both his first PAT attempt and field goal try before finally settling in nailing his next five extra point tries as well as connecting on a 32-yard field goal as time expired at the end of the first half. Ever more crucial, his two Uno's in Sunday's final three minutes sparked a 4th quarter comeback in which the defense held Richmond scoreless on the two drives following the Uno's. Wolfe's ten points were also league- high's among all kickers.

Honorable Mention: KR/WR Charles McClain (Alabama)

PIFL returns to action this Friday when we get our lone 2014 Championship rematch of the season with the Steelhawks once again paying a visit to Nashville (0-1). The Venom will be looking to rebound after dropping their season-opener this past Friday to Alabama. The action will resume of Saturday when Lions hop a jet to Trenton to face the previously idle Freedom (1-0) while the Raiders return home for their home-opener against the Hammers (1-0) hoping to avoid their first 0-3 start in franchise history.
