Henry Returns from AHL; Sandlak Reassigned to Charlotte

ESTERO, FL -- The Florida Everblades announced Monday that defenseman and captain Jordan Henry (pictured) has returned to the team on loan from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League. In addition, forward Carter Sandlak has been reassigned by the Carolina Hurricanes (NHL) to Charlotte (AHL).

Henry, 29, was scoreless with four penalty minutes in five games during his recent call-up to Charlotte. Henry returns to Florida where he has registered 19 points (7g, 12a) and a +12 rating in 29 games played this season.

The 6-2, 198-pound blueliner totaled 23 points (9g,14a) and a +9 rating in 34 games with the Everblades last season. Henry logged an assist in 19 appearances with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League last season as well.

Henry has registered 69 points (22g, 47a) in 257 career AHL games in stints with Rochester, Abbotsford, Chicago, Oklahoma City, Syracuse, and Charlotte. The Milo, Alberta native also played in 36 games in the KHL for Minsk Dynamo during the 2010-11 season.

Sandlak, 21, heads back to Charlotte after posting three assists and 14 penalty minutes in three appearances with the Everblades last week. Sandlak was initially reassigned to the 'Blades on March 25. The 6-2 205-pound winger has registered four points (2g, 2a) with 65 penalty minutes in 38 games with Charlotte this season. The Vancouver, BC native posted 48 points (24g, 24a) in 61 games played with the Plymouth Whalers (OHL) last season. Sandlak totaled 122 points during his five seasons played in the Ontario Hockey League (2011-2014) in stints with Guelph, Belleville, and Plymouth.

The Everblades are back in action at Germain Arena this week on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Florida opens the week with division rival Reading on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. (promotional details listed below)
