Houston Dynamo FC News Release
Goalkeeper Tyler Deric made three saves and the Houston Dynamo played to a 0-0 draw with the Colorado Rapids on Saturday at BBVA Compass Stadium.
The Dynamo travel to face Seattle Sounders FC next Saturday, April 4 at CenturyLink Field. Houston returns home to host the Montreal Impact on Saturday, April 11 at BBVA Compass Stadium.
Deric made two important saves in the first half, beginning with a shot from Marcelo Sarvas that Deric parried at the near post for a corner kick.
Deric's best save of the night came in 31st minute as the Rapids moved the ball quickly at the top of the box to set up Sarvas, who had a chance from six yards but Deric palmed his shot over the crossbar.
Houston's best chances included a Rob Lovejoy shot from the top of the box that was blocked. Before halftime Lionel Miranda took a short pass from a set piece and laced a shot from 30 yards that was bound for goal but blocked. In the second half, Miranda beat the defense and set up Brad Davis, but his shot from inside the area was blocked.
The Dynamo were missing four players to international duty: Giles Barnes and Jermaine Taylor (Jamaica), and Boniek Garcia and Luis Garrido (Honduras).
