Thomspon, Clemmensen Lift Albany to Fourth Straight Win

NORFOLK, VA - Paul Thompson completed the hat trick and Scott Clemmensen turned aside 37 shots to lift the Albany Devils over the Norfolk Admirals, 3-1, Saturday at Scope Arena. The win moves the Devils to 31-25-5-6 and extends their winning streak to four games.
Albany capitalized 17 seconds into their first power play of the game when Raman Hrabarenka's point shot was deflected in front by Thompson for his first of the game at 9:41 of the opening frame. His second tally came 16 seconds into a second period power play when he beat Admirals goaltender Ryan Faragher shortside at 3:12. The right wingers third of the contest and team-leading 29th of the season came on a breakaway at 17:30 of the third period.
The hat trick was Thompson's second of the season - his first coming in his debut with Albany on Oct. 11 against the Adirondack Flames.
Between the pipes, Clemmensen recorded a season high 37 saves, stopping 10 in the first period, nine in the second and 18 in the third. The netmider improves to 8-9-2.
Louis Leblanc netted the Admirals lone goal at 5:13 of the second.
The Devils went 2-5 on the power play and 2-2 on the penalty kill. In their four game win streak, Albany has gone 7-24 on the man advantage and 17-18 while on the penalty kill.

Raman Hrabarenka extended his point streak to four games (3g, 2a) ... Paul Thompson scored his team leading 29th tally and is tied for second in the league in goals. He notched his second hat trick of the season and 11th multi-point game ... Mike Sislo recorded his tenth multi-point contest ... Joe Whitney registered 3 points (2g, 1a) in the last two games ... Matt Lorito tallied his second professional point with an assist on Thompson's third goal.

The Devils return home to Times Union Center on Wednesday, Apr. 1 to faceoff with the Manchester Monarchs. Puck drop is slated for 7 pm.
