Norfolk Signs Mathew Berry to PTO

NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals announced today that the American Hockey League (AHL) club signed right winger Mathew Berry to an amateur tryout contract (ATO).

Berry, 22, spent the last four years with Michigan State University, where he compiled a total of 48 goals and 48 assists for 96 points in 130 games. The Canton, Michigan native excelled for the Spartans, ranking in the top-five on his team each year, and placing first in points during both his sophomore and senior seasons. In 2014-15, the 5-foot-10, 175-pound forward ' s 29 points in as many games earned him a tie for 12th place in the Big Ten Conference and 46th in the NCAA. Prior to his collegiate career, Berry played 56 games for the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the United States Hockey League, where he drew second on his team in points (51).

The Admirals take on the Albany Devils tonight on MDA Jersey Auction Night for the final time this season, with puck drop set for 7:15 p.m. at Scope Arena.
