York Revolution News Release

(York, Pa.): The York Revolution has announced the return of all-time franchise saves leader Rommie Lewis, as well as the addition of veteran big league outfielder Brandon Boggs as the latest two signings to the 2015 preseason roster. The transactions were first announced by Revs manager and 2014 Atlantic League Manager of the Year Mark Mason this afternoon exclusively on "Revs Hot Stove Weekly" on SportsRadio 1350 WOYK-AM.

Lewis returns for a third season with the Revs, holding the club record for saves with 33 all-time in a Revolution uniform, including a single-season franchise record 28 last year when he earned midseason and postseason Atlantic League All-Star accolades. The 6'6 southpaw has excelled out of the Revs bullpen, earning contracts to pitch in Taiwan during the second half in each of the last two seasons. Lewis has compiled a spectacular 1.91 ERA in 140 relief appearances in three Atlantic League seasons including the 2012 campaign with Bridgeport. The 32-year-old was originally a fourth round draft choice of the Baltimore Orioles in 2001 and reached the Major Leagues where he combined to make 20 appearances for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2010 and 2011.

Boggs returns to the Atlantic League where he began the 2014 season with Bridgeport. After batting .324 in 18 games, the switch-hitter earned a contract with the Atlanta Braves and spent the remainder of the season at Triple-A Gwinnett, batting .256 with seven home runs and 33 RBI in 92 games. It marked the seventh consecutive season played at the Triple-A level for Boggs, a career .259 hitter in the minors with 98 home runs over 11 professional seasons. A fourth round draft pick of the Texas Rangers in 2004, Boggs reached the Majors with Texas in 2008, batting .226 with eight home runs and 41 RBI in 101 games played. Having appeared in 130 games at the MLB level, Boggs would go on to see big league time with the Rangers each of the following two seasons, and again with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2011. The Marietta, GA native starred in college at Georgia Tech, alongside Revs infielder/outfielder Eric Patterson.

The Revolution now have 24 players under contract for the 2015 season, and are expected to announce more additions next Friday at 4 p.m., live and exclusively on "Revs Hot Stove Weekly" on WOYK. The show can also be heard online at WOYK1350.com and on the WOYK mobile apps.

The Revs will open the 2015 season, their ninth season of play as a franchise, at home against the Long Island Ducks on Friday, April 24.
