Earthquakes Announce Easter Egg Hunt Fundraiser Following Match on April 5

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that they will hold an Easter egg hunt following the team's match on April 5 against Real Salt Lake as a fundraiser for the family of fallen San Jose police officer Michael Johnson . Johnson was 38 years old and was a 14-year veteran of the SJPD. The match kicks off at 2 p.m. PT.
The Easter egg hunt is available to kids 10 and under with a ticket to the match and fans are encouraged to make a donation of any amount to the San Jose Police Officers' Association to participate. Fans can register for the egg hunt at the match or online prior to the match at https://sjearthquakes.formstack.com/forms/easteregghunt .
"The San Jose Earthquakes want to extend our deepest condolences to the family of officer Johnson and the entire San Jose Police Department at this difficult time," said Earthquakes President Dave Kaval. "Given all that they do for our community, supporting the San Jose Police Officers' Association and the family of Michael Johnson in their time of need is of the utmost importance to our organization."
Fans will have the opportunity to donate in a variety of ways and at various locations inside Avaya Stadium on April 5. During the game a donation bin will be set up at the Guest Services Center behind section 101 and at an Earthquakes Community booth in the 7UP Epicenter. Following the match, fans can donate upon checking in for the Easter egg hunt. In addition, donations can be made online at www.sjearthquakes.com/donations .
All contributions collected will be matched by the Earthquakes Community Fund, up to $10,000, and will go to the San Jose Police Officers' Association to assist the Johnson family.
