Blasters Announce Career Fair

The Joplin Blasters will be holding their first Career Fair in advance of the 2015 Inaugural Season. The Career Fair will be held at the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce (320 E. 4th Street) on Saturday, April 11th at 9am.

"We are extremely excited to hold our first Career Fair here in Joplin," said Blasters GM Shawn Suarez. "This is a way for us to reach out to the community and look for potential employees who want to be part of the Blasters Family. We have an array of different areas we will be looking to hire for and will use this event as our main applicant pool."

Some of the different positions the Blasters will look to hire for include:

- Ushers - Ushers will be responsible for helping fans find their seats, get around the stadium, and assisting them any other needs they may have.

- Ticket Takers - Ticket takers will be controlling the entrance and exit gates at all games and events held at Joe Becker Stadium.

- Box Office Personnel - Box office staff will be selling, exchanging, and giving tickets to fans at all events and game days as well as during normal walk-up business hours.

- Public Address Announcer - The Voice of the Blasters inside Joe Becker Stadium.

- Official Scorekeeper - Responsible for keeping official stats and scorebook at all home games.

- Merchandise Store Personnel - staff will be responsible for the merchandise store during home games.

The Joplin Blasters will also be looking to hire interns for the 2015 season. Different roles for interns include:

- Front Office

- Promotional and On-Field

- Media Relations

- Group Parties

Joe Becker Stadium Concessionaire, Sodexo, will also be on hand at the career fair to hire the following open positions in the concession stands:

- Concessions/Catering Positions (Sodexo) - cashiers, runners, cooks, suite staff and support staff to make sure all areas of the food and beverage department are running efficiently. Individuals with some service and cooking experience in a restaurant-type environment are normally the most successful applicants.

Interested applicants are asked to bring their resume and cover letter to the Career Fair where they will have the opportunity to meet with current team staff.
