Fort Lauderdale Strikers News Release

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Thursday, March 26, 2015) - The Fort Lauderdale Strikers today announced the signing of defender Stephane Guillaume. Per team and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Guillaume, 31, returns for a third year with the Strikers. Affectionately known by Strikers fans as the "Haitian Sensation," Guillaume is the eighth player from last season's roster to return for the 2015 NASL Season.

"Stephane is a fantastic player with great technique, and a good person all around," said Strikers Soccer Director/Partner Andre Chaves. "We are really happy that he has fully recovered from his injury and are delighted to have him on our team. We expect that he will contribute a lot for us this year."

The right back made 16 official appearances for the Strikers in 2013, his first year with the club, before suffering a season-ending knee injury in a match against the New York Cosmos in September 2013. After nearly a year on the sidelines, Guillaume made his return to the pitch in September 2014, playing in four games including the 2014 NASL Championship Semifinal victory against Minnesota United FC.

Since earning his first cap in 2003, Guillaume has appeared 29 times for the Haiti national football team. He was a member of Haiti's 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup squad along with current Strikers teammate James Marcelin.

Stephane will continue to wear the number 18 jersey for the Strikers.

The Strikers open up the 2015 NASL Spring Season on April 4 against the New York Cosmos at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Tickets to the match are available on www.Strikers.com starting at just $12.
