Quarterfinal Matchups Complete After US Rallies to Beat Czech Republic

March 26, 2015 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) News Release

The US National Arena Soccer Team rallied from a late 4-3 deficit to beat the Czech Republic 5-4, finalizing the 2015 WMF World Cup Quarterfinals bracket.

The US win clinched them the top position in Group A, sending them to Tulsa, Oklahoma to face Germany on Friday. The Czech Republic's loss kept them in second place in Group A, resulting in a meeting with Brazil, who won Group C, in Flint, Michigan on Thursday.

Group B winner Mexico has already settled in to their hotel in Tulsa and will await the arrival of El Salvador for their Thursday kickoff. Group B and C runners-up Romania and Canada will do battle in Tulsa as well on Thursday.

The presence of the Major Arena Soccer League will be felt on Team USA, Mexico, Brazil, and Canada whose rosters are dominated by players from the premier North American league, giving them a perceived edge. Germany, the USNAST's opponent on Friday, was the lowest seed, finishing 1-2, but being aided by goal differential after a 29-1 win against 0-3 India.
