MacMillan Added to Admirals on PTO

NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals announced that the American Hockey League (AHL) club signed forward Alex MacMillan to a professional tryout contract (PTO) today.

MacMillan, 24, entered professional hockey this year with the Utah Grizzlies when he skated with the team for five games, earning himself two assists, zero penalty minutes and an even plus-minus rating. Prior to the ECHL, the Calgary, Alberta native spent four years with American International College of the Atlantic Hockey Association, where he totaled 36 goals and 43 assists for 79 points in 118 games. MacMillan also played six seasons of junior hockey before joining the collegiate sphere, donning jerseys in both the Alberta Junior Hockey League and British Columbia Hockey League.

The Admirals begin a six-game homestand tonight against the Charlotte Checkers at 7:15 p.m., followed by a back-to-back against Albany this weekend.
