CommunityAmerica Ballpark to Host Pro Fastpitch Softball Games

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Kansas City T-Bones are pleased to welcome professional fastpitch softball to Kansas City this summer, as the USSSA Florida Pride and the Dallas Charge of the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) league will play a two-game series on June 11 and 12 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. It will mark the first time an NPF series will be played during the Top Gun Invitational youth tournament, which will bring more than 110 teams from at least 20 states to the Kansas City area.

The USSSA Pride is coming off of back-to-back NPF Championship Series titles. The Pride roster features some of the top talent in the game including Olympians Cat Osterman, Andrea Duran, Natasha Watley and Kelly Kretschman . Additionally, former University of Missouri standout Chelsea Thomas will return to the Midwest. Thomas is the Tigers career leader in wins and strikeouts. Fans will get the opportunity to see Pride newcomer Hannah Rogers, the reigning Women's College World Series (WCWS) Most Outstanding Player. Rogers, who won the 2014 National Championship with the University of Florida last June. Rogers, a four-time All-American went 4-0 in the WCWS as the Gators won the school's first softball national championship.

The Dallas Charge is making its NPF debut in 2015 as the league's newest expansion team. The Charge becomes the fifth affiliate team in the NPF joining the Pride, Akron Racers, Chicago Bandits and Pennsylvania Rebellion.

Tickets for the two-game series go on sale Thursday, March 26, and are available by calling the Providence Medical Center Box Office at CommunityAmerica Ballpark at 913-328-5618.

Along with the NPF games, there will be an instructional camp on June 11 at Blue Valley Rec with players from both teams serving as coaches. More information about the camp is available by emailing fastpitch@playmsp.com.
