Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release

PITTSBURGH (March 24, 2015) - Two Pittsburgh Riverhounds players have been selected to represent their countries during this week's FIFA international break.

Goalkeeper Ryan Thompson has been called up for Jamaica's game against Cuba on March 30. Full-back Tyler Pasher has joined the Canadian roster for its upcoming games against Guatemala and Puerto Rico.

Thompson will be available to play in the Hounds' USL season opener against the Harrisburg City Islanders on Saturday. The 30-year-old stopper will leave Sunday to meet up with the Reggae Boyz in Montego Bay ahead of Monday's game.

Canada's head coach Benito Floro called up Pasher as a late addition to his roster after the withdrawal of Vancouver Whitecaps defender Sam Adekugbe through injury. The 20-year-old Elmira, Ontario native is uncapped at the full national team level.

Pasher is already with the Canadian team in Florida preparing for Friday's meeting with Guatemala in Fort Lauderdale. The Reds then travel to San Juan to meet Puerto Rico next Monday. Pasher will miss the Riverhounds' home opener Saturday.

Both players will be available for the Riverhounds' second game of the USL season against Rochester Rhinos at Highmark Stadium on April 4.
