Armada FC Launches Set the Record JAX Campaign Ahead of April 4 Regular Season Opener

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (March 23, 2015) - The Armada FC, Jacksonville's new North American Soccer League team, announced the launch of its Set The Record JAX campaign on Monday.
The campaign, which will be supported by the SetTheRecordJAX.com website and #SetTheRecordJAX hashtag on social media, will encourage area soccer fans to help set a modern-day NASL attendance record in the Armada FC's regular-season opener against FC Edmonton at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 4 at EverBank Field presented by McDonalds.
The current record of 14,593 is held by the Ottawa Fury, which was set on July 20, 2014, against the New York Cosmos. The Armada FC had previously set an NASL preseason attendance record of 13,934 in its 3-1 win over the Philadelphia Union at EverBank Field on Feb. 7.
"We want to send a message to the nation that soccer is a significant part of the sports landscape in our region," said Armada FC President Steve Livingstone. "We had a tremendous turnout for our inaugural match in February, and we want to take it to the next level for our first-ever regular season match."
In addition to a robust marketing campaign throughout the area that includes advertisements on radio, print and outdoor, the club will host a series of activities the week of the April 4 match. Some of the activities include a giant kickoff event at the Jacksonville Landing on Wednesday, April 1 and the Armada FC Can-Doo Kickoff Festival presented by Community First Credit Union and headlined by O.A.R. at Metropolitan Park on April 4, which precedes the match.
Immediately following the conclusion of the festival, Armada FC supporters group Section 904 will lead concert attendees in the Armada FC March to the Match from Met Park directly to EverBank Field.
Local businesses are being encouraged to support the campaign by purchasing group tickets for clients or employees with messages being sent out via the JAX Chamber, Jacksonville Bar Association and other local professional associations.
