Wolves Close out Season with Pair of Losses

The Sudbury Wolves wrapped up the 2014-15 season on the road this past weekend with a pair of losses in Belleville and Ottawa.

Saturday, the Wolves visited the Bulls at the Yardman Arena in Belleville for the final time in front of a sold out crowd. The Wolves got off to a strong start taking a 2-0 lead early in the first on back-to-back goals by IVAN KASHTANOV and CHAD HEFFERNAN. The Bulls rallied back before the opening frame closed out, adding two goals to tie the game up at two.

The Bulls added two more goals early in the second to take a 4-2 lead over the Wolves. CHARLEY GRAASKAMP put one behind the Belleville goaltender at the half way mark of the second frame to bring the Wolves within one, but that was as close as they came. The Bulls added two more in the third, including an empty net goal to take a 6-3 victory. Final shots on goal were 37-24 in favour of the Bulls. 19-year-old goaltender SAM TANGUAY took the loss in net for the Wolves. The Bulls were 2 for 6 on the powerplay while the Wolves were 0 for 1.

The Wolves closed out the season on Sunday afternoon in Ottawa where they fell 6-0 to the 67's.

The Sudbury Wolves now hold the 1st overall pick in this year's OHL Priority Selection which will take place on Saturday April 11th.
