Orlando Solar Bears News Release
Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, will hold their annual First Responders Night and Guns n' Hoses game on Saturday, March 21. The Guns n' Hoses game will begin at 2:00 p.m. and the Solar Bears host the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:00 p.m. Auto Justice Attorney Michael T. Gibson is the presenting sponsor of both events.
The third annual Guns N' Hoses game features the Central Florida Enforcers (Police team) against Orange County Fire (Fire Department team) at the Amway Center at 2:00 p.m. The Central Florida Enforcers are raising money for C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors) while the Orange County Fire are raising money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation to assist children with cancer.
Along with sponsoring both the Guns n' Hoses game and First Responders Night, Auto Justice Attorney Michael T. Gibson is donating 200 tickets to the families of local firefighters and police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. "In what we do, every day, you see the good and valuable work that our First Responders provide our community," said Michael T. Gibson. "We donated our tickets as a way to say thank you for the everyday sacrifices made and in recognition of the work these fine men and women do. It is an honor to be a part of this event, and we look forward to many more. Thank you to all these men and women for all that you do."
Special guests attending the Guns n' Hoses game and First Responders Night are Chief Mina of the Orlando Police Department and Chief Drozd III of the Orange County Fire Department. The family of the late Orange County Deputy Sheriff Jonathan Scott Pine, who both lost his life in the line of duty, will be recognized at the Solar Bears game that evening.
The Solar Bears will wear special First Responders Jerseys during their game against Gwinnett, and the first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a key chain courtesy of Auto Justice Attorney Michael T. Gibson. C.O.P.S. and the St. Baldrick's Foundation will be the beneficiaries of the 50/50 drawing and Chuck-a-Puck contest during the Solar Bears game.
Fans who purchase tickets to the game between the Solar Bears and Gladiators at 7:00 p.m. receive complimentary access to the Guns n' Hoses game at 2:00 p.m. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. for the Guns n' Hoses contest and 6:00 p.m. for the Solar Bears game. Fans are also invited to attend a Pre-Game Block Party at Harry Buffalo's from 4:00 p.m. until the start of the Solar Bears game at 7:00 p.m. The block party will continue after the game, including an appearance from the Solar Bears players.
