Bellingham Bells News Release

The Bellingham Bells are excited to announce the addition of two pitchers to the 2015 roster, as UCLA commit Jon Olsen and Cal's Jordan Talbot will join the Bells pitching staff this summer.

Olsen, a senior pitcher at Damien High School in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., has signed a National Letter of Intent with UCLA for the 2016 season. A right-handed pitcher, Olsen maintained a 3.13 ERA in 2014 while leading his team to the CIF-SS Division II playoffs. Olsen was named a 2014 Perfect Game USA Underclass First Team All-American and was also chosen to participate in the 2013 Area Code Games in Long Beach, Calif.

"Olsen comes to us as a UCLA commit and is highly regarded as a big time recruit," Bells manager Jeff James said. "We are thankful to UCLA for continuing their relationship with the Bells."

Talbot, a sophomore right-handed pitcher, had a 1.29 ERA in 2014 with two saves and seven strikeouts in 14 innings for the Bears. As a senior at Aptos High School in 2012, Talbot was named league MVP.

"Jordan is a big right-handed pitcher out of Cal that we are excited to bring to Bellingham," James said. "After a redshirt year and successful time on the mound last season we look for him to breakthrough and be a big contributor to our staff."
