Regina Pats News Release

Regina, Saskatchewan - The Regina Pats (37-22-5-4) and Moose Jaw Warriors (29-34-4-1) put the finishing touches on a home and home set at the Brandt Centre tonight. It's the final meeting of the season between the rivals with the Pats holding a 5-0-2-0 record against the Warriors. Last night saw the Pats come back from a 3-0 deficit to defeat the Warriors 4-3. Adam Brooks leads the Pats with nine points (4G, 5A) in seven games while Brett Howden heads up the Warriors with eight points (5G, 3A) in the season set. Coming into tonight's game, the Pats have won two straight including last night's win in Moose Jaw. The Warriors have dropped two in a row and find themselves three points back of Swift Current for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Tune into tonight's game on 620 CKRM starting at 6:35 p.m.

Lead Up: Pats Topple Warriors 4-3

The Warriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but the Pats chipped away at the advantage before eventually taking a 4-3 win. Patrick D'Amico scored shortly after the third Moose Jaw marker. Colby Williams tallied in the final minute of the second period, and Rykr Cole score just outside the first minute of the third to tie the game. D'Amico thought he had given the Pats the lead later in the period, only to have the goal voided by a controversial call. The Pats came right back on the ensuing penalty and Pavel Padakin scored the eventual game winner shorthanded.

Century Mark

Austin Wagner returned from injury last night to play his 100th game in the WHL. He joins defenceman Chase Harrison who sits at the same number of career games played after sitting out last night with an upper body injury. Both are in the midst of career years with Wagner featuring 37 points (19G, 18A) and Harrison enjoying a 17 point (3G, 14A) season.

Punching the Clock

The Pats are in yet another busy stretch as the season nears its end. Tonight is the Queen City Kids' sixth game in just nine nights. The Pats feature a 3-2-0-0 record in that stretch. The team recently went through a seven game in ten day stretch (Feb. 20th - March 1st) over which they carried a 4-1-1-1 record.

Shorthanded Snipers

Pavel Padakin's game winner last night was the Pats' league leading 18th shorthanded goal of the season. That mark eclipses last season's total of 17 shorties. Regina's penalty kill is tied for 9th in the WHL at 80.5%
