Evansville IceMen News Release

INDIANAPOLIS- The Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light, could not crack the code to beat Mac Carruth who made 21 saves to help the Indy Fuel to a 3-0 win. Carruth stopped all 21 pucks he faced to earn his third shutout of the season.

Indy took the lead with less than two minutes remaining in the opening stanza. Matt White's ninth goal of the season gave the Fuel a one-goal advantage entering the break.

Pete Massar and Nicklas Lindberg scored in the second period to make it a 3-0 Fuel lead after two. Indy outshot the IceMen 28-16 through the first two periods, including a 16-8 advantage in the middle frame.

In the third period, the IceMen tried to manufacture some offense, but could not get one past Carruth. The Fuel goaltender closed the door to bring the Fuel within one point of a playoff spot in the North Division.

Justin MacDonald led the way for Evansville with five shots. The line of MacDonald, Mark Anthoine, and Phil Bushbacher contributed 10 the IceMen's 21 shots on net.

The IceMen return home on Saturday to begin a two-game series with the Orlando Solar Bears. Saturday's game will be Pi Day, with the date matching up with the first five digits of the number pi.
