Former Austin Bruins goaltender Keegan Asmundson (Inver Grove Heights, MN) has been recognized several times in his career at Canisius College for achievements on and off the ice.

At the conclusion of his senior season, Asmundson was named to the All-Atlantic Hockey Second Team on Thursday. The 24-year-old posted a record of 11-7-4, with a 2.09 goals-against average and a save percentage of 92.6% with one shutout, in leading the Golden Griffins to a second place regular season finish in the conference. He is the first Canisius goalie to earn all-conference honors since 2004-05.

At the end of the 2013-14 season, Asmundson received the program s Community Outreach Award, an honor he also received during his freshman season in 2011-12. This season, due to a strong start to 2015, he won Atlantic Hockey s Goaltender of the Month award in both January and February.

With the Bruins during Austin s inaugural campaign in 2010-11, Asmundson played in 39 games. During the season, he posted a record of 18-18-2, with a 2.68 goals-against average and a save percentage of 92.3 percent. He also spent time with Fargo and Des Moines in the USHL, before heading to Canisius.

The Griffs open up the Atlantic Hockey tournament at home in a best of three series against Sacred Heart Friday and Saturday in Buffalo, NY.
