The Victoria Royals defeated the Kelowna Rockets 6-3 at Prospera Place in Kelowna on Wednesday night in the start of a three game week for the Rockets.
Despite outshooting the Royals 47-26 in the game, Kelowna couldn't muster enough offense on the night, in falling to 50-12-4-1 on the season.
Nick Merkley led the Rockets offense, scoring twice, including his 20th goal of the season. Rookie defenceman Devante Stephens had the other Rockets marker.
Jackson Whistle took the loss in the Kelowna net.
The Rockets will now get set for a home and home series this weekend against the Kamloops Blazers as the teams will meet Friday in Kamloops before returning to Kelowna on Saturday night.
