Orangeville A's News Release

BRAMPTON, On. - The Brampton A's fell 106-91 to the London Lightning in first round playoff action Wednesday night. The best of five series is now split 1-1. This defeat ends the A's seven game winning streak.   Brampton and London traded baskets during the first quarter as both teams stayed within single digits of each other. The Lightning found a dangerous offensive rhythm towards the end of the first half, allowing them to head to the locker room up 52-43.   The A's received great support from its bench, as Ashton Smith led his team with nine points at the half. Marvin Phillips and Sefton Barrett led London with 13 points.   Brampton managed to go on a slight run in the second half, but did not have enough ammunition to overthrow the energized Lightning team.   Smith finished the game with 16 points, while Akeem Scott followed with 14 points. Brent Jennings led all scorers as he recorded 22 points for London.   Brampton will travel to London this weekend for back-to-back contests beginning Saturday at 7pm. A live stream of the action will be available via www.bramptonas.ca.
