IceDogs Fall to Otters
March 11, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Niagara IceDogs News Release
The Niagara IceDogs held Connor McDavid off the scoresheet, snapping his 27 game point streak, but fell 3-0 to the Erie Otters Wednesday night in Erie.
Quentin Maksimovich opened the scoring for the Otters at 14:55 of the first period to make it 1-0. Alex DeBrincat added a power play goal less than a minute later to give the Otters a two-goal lead after 20 minutes.
DeBrincat scored his second goal of the game 1:14 into the middle frame to make it 3-0. The IceDogs had their chances in the first two periods but were unable to beat Otters goaltender Devin Williams.
Neither team was able find the back of the net as the IceDogs six game winning streak came to an end.
McDavid has been held scoreless just twice this season, with both of those games being against the IceDogs. They are back at it Saturday night when they host the Sudbury Wolves at the Meridian Centre.
