Sacramento Republic FC Add Four More Players to 2015 Roster

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (March 10, 2015) - Sacramento Republic FC agreed on contracts with defenders Derek Foran and Matthias Bonvehi and forwards Adnan Gabeljic and Joaquin Rivas. Gabeljic's contract is pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

Foran joins Republic FC on a two-season contract with a club option for the 2017 season. Foran played with St. Patrick's Athletic in the League of Ireland Premier Division. Overall, he spent the past eight seasons in the Premier Division with stints at Shamrock Rovers, Dundalk FC and Sligo Rovers. Foran and Republic FC forward Thomas Stewart were teammates at Shamrock Rovers during the 2013 season.

Bonvehi comes to Republic FC on a one-season contract with a club option for the 2016 season. Bonvehi helped his previous club, Stallion FC, win the United Football League Cup in the Philippines. The defender has played in Germany, Argentina and Montenegro. Bonvehi played college soccer at Cal State Northridge.

Gabeljic joins Republic FC on a one-season contract with a club option for the 2016 season. His contract is pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

Gabeljic played for both the Oklahoma City Energy FC (USL) and NK Rudeš, a Croatian club in the 2014 season. Gabeljic appeared in three matches for Energy FC before moving to NK Rudeš, where he appeared in four matches. Gabeljic was selected 37th overall in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft by Sporting KC, but was not signed. He played college soccer at Saint Louis University, where he scored nine goals and recorded seven assists in 70 career appearances.

Rivas comes to Republic FC on a one-season contract with a club option for the 2016 season. Rivas played for the Kitsap Pumas (PDL) last season, appearing in 13 matches, starting 10. He scored four goals and recorded two assists in 760 minutes played. Rivas played college soccer for UNLV, where he appeared in 67 matches, starting 43. He scored nine goals and recorded five assists in his college career, including five goals and three assists in his senior season.
