Baltimore Blast News Release

Baltimore, MD - The Major Arena Soccer League today announced its All-League First, Second, and Third Teams for the recently completed 2014/15 regular season.

Each teams, as well as members of the league front office, were each given a ballot and the players who received the most votes at each position were placed on the All-League Team. Because of a tie in the voting, seven players qualified for the First Team instead of six.

Baltimore Blast goalkeeper William Vanzela received the third most First Team votes after Leo Gibson and Vahid Assadpour after a season in which he went 14-2 with a record 2.83 GAA. Vanzela's flashy numbers were punctuated by recording four of the league's six shutouts this season.

Joining Vanzela as the co-captains of Baltimore's top-rated team defense is defender Pat Healey. Healey was named to the MASL Team of the Week four times and led the 18-2 Blast with 22 assists while adding seven goals and a league-leading 53 blocked shots.

Blast Head Coach Danny Kelly said "First Team All League for both Pat and William is well deserved. In my opinion they are the top players in the league at their respective positions, and have had a tremendous impact on our success this season up to this point. We are looking for both Pat and William to continue to lead us in the playoffs, and in our quest for a championship."

William Vanzela said "I'm really really happy to be on the First Team in a league where there are so many good goalkeepers. I want to thank my teammates, coaches, and staff. This award goes out to my family and all of the Baltimore Blast fans."

Pat Healey said "It is a great honor to be acknowledged by the coaches and league. The team's goal is to win the championship and we have that opportunity in front of us."
