Rebels Win 5-3 over Regina

RED DEER, AB - The Rebels finished a four-game in five-night stretch with a 5-3 win over the Regina Pats on Saturday at the ENMAX Centrium. It marked the Rebels third win a row, as the Rebels went 3-1-0-0 during the week.
The Rebels took a 1-0 lead just 2:03 into the game on a power play goal by Adam Musil. That was the score after the opening period.
The Pats struck for two goals in 17 seconds in the second period, Chase Harrison scored at 3:00 and Colby Williams added another at 3:17 and the Pats had a 2-1 lead. It looked like that was how the period was going to end. But Reese Johnson tied the game at 18:35 of the second period, and just 13 seconds later, Brett Cote gave the Rebels the lead. It was 3-2 for Red Deer after two periods.
In the third period, the Pats tied it up at 0:53 with a power play goal by Braden Christoffer. Haydn Fleury gave the Rebels a 4-3 lead on a shot from the point that deflected off two different Regina Pat players at 7:20. Riley Sheen added an empty net goal at 18:38 to make it 5-3.
The final shots were 34-26 for Red Deer. Taz Burman made 23 saves in the Rebels net; Tyler Brown made 29 saves in the Pats goal. Each team was 1 for 2 on the power play.
The Rebels are back at home on Wednesday when they host the Saskatoon Blades.
