Kernels Announce 2015 Theme Nights, Post-Game Concerts and Special Appearances

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels have set their Theme Night, Post-Game Concert and Special Appearance schedule for the 2015 season and encourage fans to participate and have fun during these games. Popular fan favorites are returning and several new theme nights will take place at Perfect Game Field this season.

The Theme Night schedule starts on Friday, May 1st with The Avengers Movie Theme Night. NEW Theme Nights for 2015 include Kentucky Derby Night on Saturday, May 2nd; Jurassic World Movie Night on Friday, June 12th, WWE Wrestling Night on Thursday, July 23rd; Minions Movie Night on Friday, July 24th; and Mother/Son Superhero Night on Wednesday, August 5th.

Theme nights returning for the 2015 season include: Star Wars Night on Friday, May 29th; Daddy/Daughter Date Night on Thursday, June 18th; Halfway to Christmas on Friday, June 26th; Armed Forces Night on Saturday, July 4th; ISU Cyclone Night on Friday, July 17th; Jimmy Buffett Night on Saturday, August 8th; and Hawkeye Sports Night on Thursday, August 20th.

The Kernels continue their popular post-game concerts during the 2015 season featuring some of the corridor's most popular bands. Two concerts are schedule this season, starting with Pork Tornadoes on Saturday, May 16th; and the Compass Rose Band on Saturday, August 8th. All post-game concert games start at 5:05 pm.

The Kernels have set three dates for special guests appearances at Perfect Game Field. Jose Canseco will be at the stadium on Wednesday, June 17th to sign autographs and will take part in the CR Parks & Rec Department Home Run Derby before the game. Jack Clark will be here on Monday, July 6th as part of the Principal Financial Dreams Tour. And, Jerry 'The King' Lawler will be here on Thursday, July 23rd, as part of WWE Night.

2015 season ticket packages and 10-game coupon books are on sale now at the stadium, or by calling the Kernels at (319) 363-3887. Individual game tickets go on sale Monday, March 23rd at 10 am.

The 2015 Kernels arrive in Cedar Rapids on Monday, April 6th and your first chance to meet the new team is on Tuesday, April 7th as part of 'Meet the Kernels Night' from 5:00 to 7:30 pm. The Kernels open the 2015 MWL season on Thursday, April 9th at Kane County and the 2015 Home Opener is Sunday, April 12th when the Kernels host the Beloit Snappers at 4:05 pm.
